2017 Year End Review: Farm

December 30, 2017

30 Dec

Wow! I am not even sure how to summarize 2017 for Abiqua Acres! It has been a huge year, with trials but mostly successes. Of course our biggest news is finally transitioning our herd into our new robotic facility. I know I owe some apologies as I have been horrible at updating here on the […]

2016 Year End Review: Agvocacy

All of last years planning and hard work at least has something to show for in 2016. The big news of course for this year is breaking ground and building our new robotic milking facility. I will be honest I had fully expected to be ending this year as a robot dairy farmer. There’s no […]

2015 Year End Review: Farm

December 31, 2015

31 Dec

I started writing this yesterday, and well today we end 2015 on a very low note. We laid to rest our all time favorite cow today; Abiqua Acres Prestige Jesusita. I don’t really have more words than that right now, she definitely deserves a proper tribute. I’m just glad the sun is shining today, as […]

After I highlighted my efforts in agvocacy in 2014 I thought it would be fun to take a look at what happened on our farm this year! The biggest change for 2014 was the number of cows in our herd. For the second time ever and in the last two years we opened our closed […]

Did I forget Mother’s Day?

May 14, 2014

14 May

No posts about Mother’s Day were found here on Sunday, I was busy enjoying my little farmers as well as caring for the other Mothers that call our herd home. I had to chuckle as my newsfeed overflowed with the breakfasts in bed, spa days and  flowers. You see every day is Mother’s Day here.  […]

After newborn babies are walking and eating well they are moved from the box stalls into the nursery.  Twin Heifers in the box stalls. They get a ride in our nifty calf cart, that makes moving them a breeze.  This is a funny looking calf! Little Farmer helps with the Vaccinations They also get their […]

There’s something so sweet about a newborn, wet wiggly and new to the world; I will never get tired of the babies on our farm! Jellybelly greets her baby boy! After the new bundle of joy has arrived, and everyone is doing well, we check the sex of the calf. I would have to check […]

So Facebook is on strike from letting me post any pictures! So there are going to be short posts on here, until I can figure out what the problem is! I was thinking it was just my slow internet, but a couple of other pages have been having the same problem as well! If you […]

Another small group of heifer calves to register that are looking for their names. Must be the year of the bulls, and out of the ordinary we have one bull for you to name this round. Reminder that the first letter must match the mother’s names below. For the bull first letter much match and preferably end in Man. For example this family has already had a Lawman and other bull names over the years include - Mountianman, Fireman, Jaeger, VIP, Sergeant, Verdict, Monument, Sputnik. So give me your best for: SplurgeLocoGinaLoretta (needs a name beginning with G)LuluMae - Bull ... See MoreSee Less
