A Good Day

November 10, 2015

10 Nov

Sometimes, every once in a blue moon a perfectly ordinary day, is a good day. Nothing spectacular happened, nothing that was earth shattering good news, it just was. And in that just being, there was total peace and happiness for me. Add in a gorgeous sunset to end a  beautiful Fall day in Oregon and […]

Flat Aggie

November 30, 2013

30 Nov

As the Pasture Gate Closes

November 29, 2013

29 Nov

We’ve come to that point in the year where the Oregon weather has made the ground wet enough that it’s time for the Ladies to come off the pastures and into the barns for winter. We rotationally graze our herd for as many months out of the year as the weather allows. But once the […]

Up Yours!

May 14, 2013

14 May

Ugh I am behind on posts! This time of year takes a total toll on me, and it totally frusterates me! I have horrible grass allergies, and well I live on a farm where we grow our grass out for hay. Tall heading out grass = grass pollen = my worst nightmare. So from about […]

Spring is Here!

March 22, 2013

22 Mar

Spring is here in all it’s glory! This is one of my favorite times of the year, as the land begins to awaken from it’s winter sleep. I am so blessed here in Oregon to get to experience Spring in all it’s splendor. And the word the Spring in Oregon is alive! Babies are being […]

Jack Frost…….

January 22, 2013

22 Jan

Well I can’t complain about our temperate winter weather in Oregon, especially when other parts of the country are experiencing -30 wind chill. (I have a hard time processing how cold that really is?!?) But we have had a couple weeks of freezing weather, with freezing fog that has made for some interesting frost! Quite […]

When you’ve had the warmest January ever on record When you’ve had the warmest January ever on record and the grass starts growing…you turn the milk cows out to pasture! Looking like this dry spell should hold and they’ll get to enjoy some days on grass in the sunshine. Now we just wait to see if Winter ever does decide to show up!

Another small group of heifer calves to register that are looking for their names. Must be the year of the bulls, and out of the ordinary we have one bull for you to name this round. Reminder that the first letter must match the mother’s names below. For the bull first letter much match and preferably end in Man. For example this family has already had a Lawman and other bull names over the years include - Mountianman, Fireman, Jaeger, VIP, Sergeant, Verdict, Monument, Sputnik. So give me your best for: SplurgeLocoGinaLoretta (needs a name beginning with G)LuluMae - Bull ... See MoreSee Less
