December Already?

December 2, 2011

2 Dec

Wow that went fast! First I think I have all the time in the world and then all of a sudden it disappears! I had wanted to do an in depth Thankful Thursday for every thoughtful Thursday in November, but obviously that didn’t get accomplished! So here’s a round up of what I am truly Thankful For:

A Healthy Child  : We had a friend just lose their precious daughter to a heart condition, she was only a year old, I can’t imagine that pain. I am SO Thankful that my son is healthy!
An Amazing Husband: My husband is my best friend and the most amazing father I know. Without him I am pretty certain I would not have survived our very fussy, stubborn, opinionated child thus far. He has been a life saver and tremendous support for all my endeavours.
My Senses: To me they are what bring this world alive. From being able to smell the fresh baked bread in the oven or apple butter cooking on the stove. To seeing all the beauty this world holds and also being able to use my sight to read and escape into my imagination. Touch, from the hold of a hand and kisses on the cheek to warnings of temperature and different textures, we would so much less human without touch. I could go on, but I am so Thankful for these things that bring our world alive!
A Perfect Location: I am blessed beyond measure in where I live. The great Northwest has so much to offer! I love that we have all four seasons in all their splendor. And I also love that I live in the country, on a farm. I am not the type that can be cooped up in the city, I need space, fresh air, green fields, trees aplenty and no nosey neighbors!

These are just a few personal things I am Thankful for. I Love spending a little time in November reminding myself how lucky and blessed I am in this life, and how much I have to be Thankful for.
What are you Thankful for?

Always the real reel here. Feels hard to compete w Always the real reel here. Feels hard to compete with ai when the real reel is often not picture perfect. But that’s life with all its messy bits and pieces. So it will always be my real words here and the Ladies of this messy beautiful life.
This right here, the beautiful things. That’s why This right here, the beautiful things. That’s why we’ve fought so hard to hold onto this way of life. I truly wish it didn’t have to be so hard. Farmers aren’t in this way of life to get rich, but we certainly hate struggling even to make ends come close to meeting for our families. Not going to lie I’ve held onto to some guilt that we had a way out and can see a future for our farm again. So many wonderful farm families don’t have that choice. Breathing in the beautiful, letting go of the past and looking forward to bringing you more of our farm story in this crazy world of social media.

I always love the phrase ā€œfind a job you don’t need a vacation fromā€. In dairy farming especially we laugh that most vacations are rather impossible. But at the same time feel very lucky that we love what we do. There are definitely days that make you feel defeated and wonder why you don’t have that desk job. On the flip side when your everyday gets to be fueled by passion that makes it a job we love. I hope that your job brings you the same type of fulfillment. Cheers to the great work that dairy farmers do! ... See MoreSee Less
