Mid-Week Meal

October 30, 2013

30 Oct

Bacon-Broccoli Alfredo Hmm wasn’t sure what to call this one as it’s kind of a throw together meal. Lots of my meals are like that, cause well ain’t nobody got time for otherwise round here and it helps keep me sane! Not sure I’ve mentioned before, but I am big on cooking extra meat on […]

Proof that house cleaning is Bad!

October 11, 2013

11 Oct

Most people Spring clean their homes……I Fall clean my home! Sad to admit, but it’s just the lifestyle we live: from about June to September, we don’t really live in our house. It’s mainly a dumping ground for the 5 seconds your inside in between jobs outside. Ok we also shower, sleep and eat there […]

Family Time

October 2, 2013

Somewhere in the craziness of this summer, we found some time to celebrate our son turning 2 with a photo shoot. The amazingly talented and super friendly Heidi Helser took these awesome pictures for us. Highly recommend her if you are in the area and in need of a phtographer, she rocks!!   To actually get […]

Blah!

July 12, 2013

12 Jul

Who gets sick in the summer time? Our whole family apparently! And Yuck, being sick in the summer time is the worst. This wasn’t any easy bug either! So we’ve been spending the last week with a box of Kleenexes handy for all of us! Irritating! It’s so much easier to be sick when it’s […]

This has to Stop, Now! Band together Women!

June 22, 2013

22 Jun

I’m not a big celebrity follower. But when this story popped up on my Facebook feed, I couldn’t help but be intrigued! I didn’t follow Kate Middleton’s journey to becoming a Princess, didn’t even watch the wedding, although they picked a great day, my birthday! 😉 But really isn’t that every little girls thought at […]

Up Yours!

May 14, 2013

14 May

Ugh I am behind on posts! This time of year takes a total toll on me, and it totally frusterates me! I have horrible grass allergies, and well I live on a farm where we grow our grass out for hay. Tall heading out grass = grass pollen = my worst nightmare. So from about […]

Mid-Week Meal

May 7, 2013

7 May

We have a lot of hamburger so I am always looking for recipes that include ground beef. You can only eat so many burgers before you get burned out on bbq, although I think my husband could argue that! So here’s one of my favorite quick and easy recipes. Favorite Sloppy Joe’s 1 pound extra-lean […]

Celebrating a Birth Day

April 30, 2013

30 Apr

Where did April go? I’m staring May in the face and truly wonder where the days go! But April for my little family is full of birthdays, no really all our birthdays are in April, so I think that helps to quicken the pace of the days! But as I celebrated my birthday just yesterday […]

Spring Cleaning

April 14, 2013

14 Apr

I hate cleaning, no really I completely loathe cleaning my home! There’s literally a million other things I would rather do and usually do end up doing, so my house is always in some sort of dissarray. Which is ok with me, it’s just how I am. And we spend most of our time outside […]

Always the real reel here. Feels hard to compete w Always the real reel here. Feels hard to compete with ai when the real reel is often not picture perfect. But that’s life with all its messy bits and pieces. So it will always be my real words here and the Ladies of this messy beautiful life.
This right here, the beautiful things. That’s why This right here, the beautiful things. That’s why we’ve fought so hard to hold onto this way of life. I truly wish it didn’t have to be so hard. Farmers aren’t in this way of life to get rich, but we certainly hate struggling even to make ends come close to meeting for our families. Not going to lie I’ve held onto to some guilt that we had a way out and can see a future for our farm again. So many wonderful farm families don’t have that choice. Breathing in the beautiful, letting go of the past and looking forward to bringing you more of our farm story in this crazy world of social media.

I always love the phrase “find a job you don’t need a vacation from”. In dairy farming especially we laugh that most vacations are rather impossible. But at the same time feel very lucky that we love what we do. There are definitely days that make you feel defeated and wonder why you don’t have that desk job. On the flip side when your everyday gets to be fueled by passion that makes it a job we love. I hope that your job brings you the same type of fulfillment. Cheers to the great work that dairy farmers do! ... See MoreSee Less
